honestly outdated controls are not a good enough reason to not emulate the ps2 or xbox versions or seek out the original pc version over this disaster . console players are unfortunately screwed. unless you got the original PS2 trilogy on PS4 when it was sold now on the other hand xbox players had the terrible mobile port of San andreas on their xbox one till this released now the switch only

That usually happens when the play area is in an odd state (like a mission state, loading auto saves seems to hang a lot). You can try to load an old save or start anew to have the world load once. After in game, you go pause -> game -> load game and try to load the corrupted save. That usually works.
